ICANN granted Amazon.com the domain '.amazon' today, rather than the entire geographic region of the Amazon Basin.
Acts like this are colonial, obviously, but also a slap in the face to early internet promises of global representation + shared power. Its really sad.

I wrote a ttRPG about an imaginary fighting video game about international conspiracies, and now you can get it for free! Iron Street Combat’s custom hand-to-hand combat subsystem painstakingly replicates the experience of haphazard button-mashing in a game you don’t really understand how to play. https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/273235/Iron-Street-Combat-o-A-World-of-Adventure-for-Fate-Core
Lately, pens. Fountain pens. Great, another, to use my dad's phrase, patrician taste.
That said, writing on paper has been really helpful for my thought processes lately. Ink, pen, and paper is a great combo.
(The ability to seamlessly move between text and diagram or image is particularly powerful, but using nice materials is also powerful. Right now, my paper is my weakest link, so I may upgrade that.)
1. Advertising shits in your head, it is a form of visual and psychological pollution.
2. Removing/Replacing/Defacing advertising is not vandalism, it is an act of tidying up that is both legally and morally defensible.
3. The Visual Realm is a Public Realm, it is part of the commons, it belongs to everyone, so nobody should be able to own it.
4. Outdoor Advertising can and should be banned, Sao Paulo did it in 2006, Grenoble followed suit in 2015.
He can stay, he can go. He can be impeached, or voted out in 2020.
But removing Trump will not remove the infrastructure of an entire party that embraced him; the dark money that funded him; the online radicalization that drummed his army; nor the racism he amplified+reanimated.

This is an article on how to play a role-playing game as a character from another ethnicity or culture. Don't make me regret it.
Jonesing for that tall-ship feeling. Pity Naval Action is busted in the ways it is; I may try to play again on the PvE server, but it's clearly second-class. I still need to make that final Naval Action criticism video, though. Maybe early March.
If I ever make a video game of my own, it'll be a model ship game.
