RPG debrief questions

What do you like to do at the end of sessions of an RPG to check in that folks are having fun, doing ok, and to get a sense of what folks want to see at the table next time? I'm trying to build up a list of tools.

RPG debrief questions

@wlonk I just ask them upfront how they felt about the session and the direction the story is taking, and what they hope to see in the next sessions. Whenever things get intense in the gaming session I also take a time to debrief and ask if the players felt comfortable with the events, and if there is anything they need to retcon in order to continue to engage with the story

RPG debrief questions

@wlonk it’s not a perfect way to do it, since some problems with the story might take a while to hit for the players, which is why I also remember that they can contact me outside that space, another time, and discuss any issue they might havr

RPG debrief questions

@wlonk I really like games with Q&A at the end. I think I first saw this in Dungeon World, but BWHQ games also have it. It lets everyone reflect on the session and pimoint out what was co or not

re: RPG debrief questions

@wlonk We always listen to the same song (PMJ's cover of Thrift Shop) while we clean up ♥

re: RPG debrief questions

@wlonk I'm the DM and often I just go off and sulk and clam up! Crying over all the monsters that the party killed
